Connect your Facebook Business Page to Distance to receive and respond to messages in your Inbox.

Requirements

  • A Facebook Business Page

  • Admin access to the Facebook Business account

Important: Personal Facebook accounts are not supported.

How to connect Facebook

  1. From the Distance dashboard, navigate to Channels.

  1. Under Chat channels, locate Connect to Facebook inbox and click Connect.

  1. You will be routed to Facebook to sign in. Log in with your Facebook Business account and confirm the connection.

Once connected, inbound Facebook messages sent to your Page will appear in Distance.

Facebook limitations

  • Customer must message first. You can only reply to users who have initiated a conversation with your Page.

  • 24-hour messaging window. Responses must be sent within 24 hours of the customer’s last message, per Meta policy.

  • Initial message sync. When first connected, Distance syncs messages from the past 12 hours.

  • Inbound-only support. Currently, only inbound Facebook messages are supported.
